The working characteristics of roll bearings

Roll bearings are used to support the rolls, and compared with the general purpose bearings, roll bearings have the following characteristics:
(1) withstand a very high unit pressure. Because the bearing seat size is restricted, can not be larger than the minimum diameter of the roll body, and the length of the roll neck is short, so the bearing on the unit load is large. Usually the unit pressure of the roll bearing is as high as 2000-4800Mpa, which is 2-5 times of the common bearing, and the pv value (the product of unit pressure and linear velocity) is 3-20 times of the common bearing.


(2) large differences in operating speed. For example, the modern six-stand cold rolling mill export speed has reached 42m / s, high-speed wire rod mill export speed of 100m / s, while some low-speed mill speed of only 0.2m / s. Obviously, different speed of the mill should use different types of bearings.
(3) harsh working environment. Hot rolling rolls are to use water cooling, and sewage, iron oxide and other easy to fall into the bearing. Cold rolling mill using process lubricants (emulsion, etc.) to lubricate, cool the rolls and rolling parts, they are not mixed with the bearing lubricant. Therefore, the sealing of the bearings put forward high requirements.


Therefore, the requirements of the roll bearings are large load capacity, small coefficient of friction, impact resistance, can work at different speeds, in the structure, the radial size should be as small as possible (so as to use a larger roll neck diameter), with good lubrication and cooling conditions.
